Description
National Pharma Hospital and Research Institute is a multi-specialty hospital located in the Neelakiri Panchayat area near Thanjavur Medical College. It inaugurated in 2010, and the medical services began in January 2011.
The hospital sits on a spacious, sprawling green campus along the main Medical College – Vallam road. It provides tertiary care with facilities that match the standards of corporate hospitals. The founder Chairman, Rtn. F. Hajee. L. Kamal Batcha, established this facility. He had successfully set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit under the name National Pharma in 1968 and built a strong reputation for its products within the medical profession in India and Southeast Asia. He also established a similar unit in Malacca, Malaysia, the first of its kind in India for manufacturing herbal products. These herbal products remain popular in these countries. His extensive experience and insights from visiting hospitals during his many trips abroad played a key role in establishing this hospital.
